HBO has announced a whole bunch of new cast members for various shows it has in development.
First, Joel Kinnaman (“Altered Carbon”) has been cast in the reimagining of “In Treatment”. The new take follows a diverse trio of patients in session with the observant, empathetic Dr. Brooke Taylor (Uzo Aduba), who is wrestling with her own issues.
Kinnaman plays Brooke’s longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend who has resurfaced – bringing further complication to Brooke’s personal life. Anthony Ramos, Liza Colon-Zayas, John Benjamin Hickey, and Quintessa Swindell also star.
Next, Katie Beth Hall has been cast in the reboot of “Head of the Class” at HBO Max. She joins previously announced series lead Isabella Gomez as well as cast members Jorge Diaz, Dior Goodjohn, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Brandon Severs, and Christa Miller.
The rebooted series revolves around a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge – a teacher Alicia Adams (Gomez), who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.
Finally, Nicole Beharie (“Miss Juneteenth”), Corey Stoll (“House of Cards”) and Tovah Feldshuh have been cast in supporting roles in Hagai Levi’s limited series “Scenes from a Marriage” for HBO.
A new adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s classic miniseries, the series is led by Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac. The series re-examines the show’s iconic depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.
