For now, the MonsterVerse mashup film “Godzilla Vs. Kong” is supposed to crash its way into cinemas in November though it’s not clear yet if the coronavirus pandemic will eventually have an impact on those plans.
In regards to the film itself, little is know about the story. We do know “You’re Next” helmer Adam Wingard directs the film from a script by “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “National Treasure” franchise regular scribe Terry Rossio. We also know it wrapped filming in April last year and so is expected to be mostly finished (it was already test screened back in February).
Now, some newly leaked toys for the film have popped up at Godzilla-Movies.com which seem to reveal that not only does Kong get a big club to use with which he can take on Godzilla, but there’s also a new monster called Nozuki and ‘Mega Godzilla’ which seems like a blend of regular Godzilla with MechaGodzilla from the classic toho films.
Of course tie-in toys are just that and not necessarily reflective of the content of the film. Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, Zhang Ziyi and Demian Bichir co-star in the film which Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute.
