“GLOW” breakout and Emmy nominee Betty Gilpin has signed on to play conservative media specialist Ann Coulter in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming “Impeachment: American Crime Story” event series for FX.
Written and executive produced by Sarah Burgess, the limited series centers on former US president Bill Clinton’s infamous scandal and impeachment that happened during the 1990s. Clive Owen plays Clinton, Beanie Feldstein is Monica Lewinski, Sarah Paulson is Linda Tripp and Annaleigh Ashford co-stars.
Coulter was the legal adviser for Paula Jones’ attorneys as they represented Jones in her sexual harassment suit against Clinton. This series will be based on Jeffrey Toobin’s bestselling book “A Vast Conspiracy”.
Gilpin, who follows on from the recent addition of Billy Eichner as Matt Drudge, will next be seen in the fourth and final season of “GLOW” later this year and also has roles in the Chris Pratt-led sci-fi thriller “The Tomorrow War” and the previously pulled controversial comedy “The Hunt”.
“Impeachment: American Crime Story” will premiere on September 27th on FX.
