Amazon Studios has debuted the first trailer and poster for “Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot,” the upcoming Gus Van Sant-directed film about famed cartoonist John Callahan.
Joaquin Phoenix plays Callahan, a Portland slacker whose alcoholism leads him to nearly lose his life in a car accident. When he reluctantly enters treatment, with encouragement from his girlfriend (Rooney Mara) and a charismatic sponsor (Jonah Hill), Callahan discovers a gift for drawing edgy, irreverent newspaper cartoons that develop a national following.
Jack Black, Carrie Brownstein, Beth Ditto and Kim Gordon also star in the film which has its world premiere at Sundance this year ahead of a May 11th theatrical release.
