The six-episode limited series “George & Tammy,” starring Michael Shannon as George Jones and Jessica Chastain as Tammy Wynette, is moving from the Paramount Network to Showtime.
Even with the shift, this series will air simultaneously on both Showtime and Paramount Network commercial-free on December 4th.
All subsequent episodes will then air on Showtime and will be available streaming and on-demand to Showtime and Paramount+ subscribers following their airings.
An international rollout will then follow outside North America. The series was originally ordered as a Spectrum Original before shifting to Paramount Network.
The show is based on Georgette Jones’ book “The Three of Us” and chronicles the country music power couple, Tammy Wynette and George Jones, whose complicated-but-enduring relationship inspired some of the most iconic music of all time.
The cast also includes Steve Zahn, Kelly McCormack, Walton Goggins, Pat Healy, David Wilson Barnes, and Katy Mixon.
