First Trailer: Shane Black’s “Play Dirty”

Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first trailer for “Play Dirty,” the new film from “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” “Iron Man 3” and “The Nice Guys” writer/director Shane Black.

The film is an adaptation of Donald E. Westlake’s novels about career criminal anti-hero character Parker. Parker has been portrayed on screen before by the likes of Lee Marvin, Robert Duvall, Mel Gibson and Jason Statham.

Parker is an irredeemable and ruthless professional thief with a no-nonsense work ethic. When he gets a shot at a major heist, he must outsmart a South American dictator, the New York mob, and the world’s richest man.

Mark Wahlberg plays Parker alongside, LaKeith Stanfield, Rosa Salazar, Tony Shalhoub, Keegan-Michael Key, Nat Wolff, Chukwudi Iwuji, Thomas Jane and Saskia Arche.

Black directs from a script he co-wrote with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi while Susan Downey, Jules Daly and Marc Toberoff produce.

Robert Downey Jr. was attached to the film as an actor prior to Mark Wahlberg’s involvement. Shot around Sydney last year, Alan Silvestri is doing the score. “Play Dirty” opens October 1st.
