Filming has officially wrapped on “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” the first spin-off film of the “Fast and Furious” franchise which stars Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw.
Johnson shared the news on Friday and in a statement said it was “easily the most challenging film I’ve ever produced and starred in… [it] is also shaping up to be my most rewarding.”
David Leitch (“Deadpool 2,” “Atomic Blonde”) helms the film which is set two years after the events of “The Fate of the Furious”. U.S. Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) joins forces with mercenary Deckard Shaw (Statham) as they work to stop a new threat – international ‘super-human’ terrorist Brixton (played by Idris Elba).
Vanessa Kirby and Eiza Gonzalez co-star in the film which opens August 2nd.
