The New Zealand Film Commission has officially confirmed that some film and TV productions are already safely back in production in the country under new protocols.
The country suspended almost all major film and TV productions in March due to ongoing global pandemic – including Amazon Studios’ “The Lord of the Rings” series and James Cameron’s long-in development “Avatar” sequels which had both been filming there.
Every production in the country will now be required to complete a registration with portal ScreenSafe in order to help the Ministry of Health with contact tracing and WorkSafe with monitoring.
The Land of the Long White Cloud has been one of the shining examples of the best way to handle the pandemic – flattening the curve with only 1,139 COVID-19 cases and 21 deaths recorded – and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has been held up in high regard as a result for her actions dealing with the crisis.
