Filming Begins In Sydney On New “Apes”

Filming has officially begun in Sydney, Australia on 20th Century Studios’ fantasy action feature “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”.

Shooting is taking place at the Fox Studios Australia complex which has just been newly renamed Disney Studios Australia. The complex was most recently the home of Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and “Thor: Love and Thunder”.

Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Peter Macon, Eka Darville and Kevin Durand will star in the film which takes place many years after the conclusion of 2017’s “War for the Planet of the Apes”.

Wes Ball (“The Maze Runner”) helms from a script by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison. Joe Hartwick Jr., Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Jason Reed produce.

The project is expected to provide more than 400 local jobs and inject more than 81.5 million U.S. dollars into the Australian economy.
