Disney Moves Up “Mary Poppins,” Delays Fifth “Indy”

Walt Disney Studios has shaken up their entire release calendar with some major tentpoles now getting new dates.

“Mary Poppins Returns” is taking advantage of a quieter than usual end of year period this year and is being moved up a week, opening now on December 19th. Next their planned “Jungle Cruise” film starring Dwayne Johnson has been pushed back a week to October 11th 2019.

After that, the “Maleficent” sequel has officially set a May 29th 2020 release date, and the fifth “Indiana Jones” film has been pushed back a full year and will now open July 9th 2021.

Finally, several ‘Untitled’ projects have shifted dates with a new Marvel film for February 12th 2021 and a new live-action film set for July 30th 2021. Previously untitled films set for November 8th 2019, February 21st 2021 and July 9th 2021 have all been pulled.
