Corey Hawkins (“24: Legacy,” “Straight Outta Compton”) has joined the cast of Jon M. Chu’s film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning play “In the Heights”. The story focuses on a bodega owner who is closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune.
Hawkins plays Benny, the only character who doesn’t speak Spanish. He works for Nina’s father at the taxi dispatch office and falls in love with Nina while dreaming of opening his own business and struggling with her father’s disapproval of their relationship. Michael Jai White, Gina Gershon, Josh Herdman, Michelle Ryan and Jason Maza will lead Jesse Quinones’s MMA/WWE sports drama “Cagefighter”. Herdman plays an MMA champ who unexpectedly loses a heavily promoted match.

Victoria Pedretti (“The Haunting of Hill House”) has been cast as the female lead in season two of the Netflix psychological thriller series “You”. Originally premiering on Lifetime to good reviews but soft numbers, it was sold to the streamer and became a big hit.
Pedretti plays Love Quinn, an aspiring chef in Los Angeles who works as a produce manager at a grocery store. David Strathairn (“McMafia,” “The Expanse”) is set for a lead role opposite Peter Sarsgaard in CBS All Access’ straight-to-series true story crime drama “Interrogation”. The first nine episodes of the series can be watched in any order, with the conclusive season finale to be released at a later date.
Spanning over three decades, the story deals with a 17-year-old man charged and convicted of brutally murdering his mother. Each episode is structured around an interrogation taken directly from the real police case files, with the goal of turning the viewer into a detective. Strathairn will play the man’s father.
