Audible has announced “Slayers: A Buffyverse Story,” an audio series spin-off of the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” TV series with most of the original cast to reprise their roles.
The series will take place twenty years after the events of the series finale when the Hellmouth was sealed, and this time the story centers on Spike (James Marsters).
The blond vampire is deep undercover in Los Angeles, where he has convinced the forces of darkness that he’s back to his evil ways. But when his cover is compromised by 16-year-old Indira Nunnally (newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes), Spike ends up on baby-slayer-sitting duty once more.
As he tries to seek out a watcher for his new protege, their paths collide with a veteran Slayer from a parallel reality where Buffy Summers never existed and Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter) is the one-and-only Slayer.
This Cordelia needs Spike’s help with a familiar menace terrorizing her world…Drusilla (Juliet Landau). Anthony Head, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, and Danny Strong also all return to lend their voices.
“Slayers: A Buffyverse Story” was written by Benson and Christopher Golden, and directed by Benson, Golden, and Kc Wayland. It premieres October 12th, but fans can get a deeper look at the new series at New York Comic Con on October 13th.
