Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Birds of Prey” is reportedly headed towards a $52 million opening weekend at the box-office according to short term tracking figures.
Currently that weekend’s only wide release, the film looks to be quite popular with the under 25 demo. That figure is a very solid start though isn’t up there with other February opening record-holders like “Black Panther” ($202M), “Deadpool” ($132.4M), “Fifty Shades of Grey” ($85.1M) or “The Lego Movie” ($69M).
Margot Robbie reprises her role of Harley Quinn in the film alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Ewan McGregor as the villain Black Mask, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya.
Cathy Yan helms the spin-off from a script by Christina Hodson. Check out a new trailer for the film’s soundtrack, and a new TV spot below. “Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” is set to be released in cinemas on February 7th.
