“Smallville” and “Veronica Mars” star Aaron Ashmore has joined the indie feature “The Thaw” for Anagram Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.
The thriller follows an Arctic research team attacked by a killer parasite released by melting polar ice caps.
Ashmore will play a college student in the besieged crew. Martha MacIsaac and Val Kilmer also star in the Michael and Mark A. Lewis-penned script.
Mark A. Lewis directs the film which begins shooting in Vancouver on Monday.
