A “Nobody” Sequel Looking Quite Likely

A Nobody Sequel Looking Quite Likely

There have been many films that have been dubbed “John Wick”-esque since the 2014 release of that Keanu Reeves-led action vehicle.

Arguably the most successful of these imitators has been last year’s Bob Odenkirk-led “Nobody”. The critically acclaimed Ilya Naishuller-directed action feature follows a mild-mannered family man who, after his house is robbed, returns to his dangerous former life as he becomes the target of a vengeful drug lord.

The film made $57 million worldwide from a $16 million budget, was acclaimed by critics and scored praise for its action, sense of fun and performances, including Christopher Lloyd’s memorable supporting turn.

David Leitch, who co-directed the first “John Wick” and produced “Nobody,” is still out doing promotion for his “Bullet Train” film right now and revealed that a potential “Nobody” sequel seems likely at this point. He tells THR:

“I think that movie is going to happen. The will is there from Bob [Odenkirk], the studio, the producers, Derek [Kolstad] and ourselves. So we’re in development on it, like hardcore development on it, and I would place your bet on it.”

From the sounds of it, the project is still in development and thus some time off. Odenkirk, coming off the recent “Better Call Saul” series finale, is set to star in the upcoming mid-life crisis in academia series “Straight Man” for AMC.
