We’re three weeks into the new Fall TV season, but the most important ratings of them all for that launch week have finally come to light – the Live+7 numbers.
Live+7 takes into account viewing figures for both the live broadcast, and a full week of DVR usage. Networks have begun pushing to make it the new standard due to the way so many people time-shift their viewing these days.
The downside of course is that they’re not usually compiled until well after the airing – usually a few weeks. Big winners in the Live+7 numbers include:
“How to Get Away with Murder” which went from 14.1 million viewers and a 3.8 rating to 21.1 million viewers and a 6.1 rating.
“The Blacklist” which went from 12.6 million viewers and a 3.5 rating to 19.3 million viewers and a 5.5 rating.
“Gotham” which went from 8.3 million viewers and a 3.3 rating to 14.1 million viewers and a 6.0 rating.
“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” which went from 5.7 million viewers and a 2.0 rating to 9.7 million viewers and a 3.6 rating.
“Sleepy Hollow” which went from 5.6 million viewers and a 2.0 rating to 9.0 million viewers and a 3.5 rating.
“Forever” which went from 6.6 million viewers and a 1.7 rating to 10.1 million viewers and a 2.6 rating.
“Red Band Society” which went from 3.4 million viewers and a 1.1 rating to 5.8 million viewers and a 2.0 rating.
“Revenge” which went from 5.1 million viewers and a 1.3 rating to 8.0 million viewers and a 2.2 rating.
The news comes as it was revealed late last week that a technical error by famed ratings gatherer Nielsen has been skewing a segment of the ratings since March – a problem that has reportedly been fixed with some corrected numbers being issued over the next few weeks.
