Mendelsohn, Stanfield Set For “Molepeople”

Lucasfilm, Amazon

Ben Mendelsohn (“Andor”) and LaKeith Stanfield (“Play Dirty”) are set to team up for the horror film “Molepeople” at Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Paramount Primal.

The story concerns a man who descends into the abandoned tunnels beneath New York City, where he discovers a twisted society lurking beneath the streets.

“Other Mommy” director Rob Savage will direct the horror thriller from a script by Nathan Elston.

Jason Blum, J.D. Lifshitz, Raphael Margules, and James Harris produce. Filming is slated to begin at the end of November or in early December in the UK.

Paramount will handle worldwide distribution, with a release date of August 27th 2027 set as production on the title is moving fast.

Various books and screen works have dealt with similar premises, including the novel “Reliquary” – a sequel to “Relic” which became the 1997 Paramount creature feature “The Relic”.
