Unsurprisingly, Amazon’s “Reacher” spin-off “Neagley” has been renewed for a second season.
The show debuted its first season in full on September 16th, the same day as the season finale of the fourth season of “Reacher”.
According to the streaming giant, the first season has reached 40 million viewers in its first 13 days of availability – making it the number four most-viewed original series debut in Prime Video history. In addition, it achieved 52% of its viewership internationally.
Third-party systems back some of these numbers up, as Nielsen reports that “Neagley” pushed “Reacher” out of the top spot in overall streaming ratings for the week of September 14th-20th in the United States.
The spin-off took the top spot with 1.78 billion minutes watched, above the 1.42 billion for “Reacher” in third place (second was “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story” with 1.48 billion).
The “Neagley” renewal arrives just days after Amazon renewed “Reacher” for a sixth season while that show is currently in production on its fifth season.
“Reacher” has been a juggernaut for the streamer – driving 5.8 billion minutes of watch time for the fourth season since August 12th. A further 2.5 billion minutes for the first three seasons have also been viewed since that date.
