Sony Pictures has changed up its release schedule for the back half of 2027 and 2028.
First up, the studio has locked down a December 10th 2027 release date for “24 Jump Street,” the third film in the comedy series starring Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube.
Tatum and Hill will once again play Jenko and Schmidt, while Cube returns as Captain Dickson. Rodney Rothman, who co-wrote the second, will direct this time around and wrote the screenplay with Hill and Meghan Malloy. Original filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller remain involved as producers alongside Neal H. Moritz.
Also today, Ridley Scott’s “Treasure Island” has been locked in for a November 11th 2027 release. Hugh Jackman leads this new film take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate adventure.
Next, the “Helldivers” film adaptation has shifted from November 10th 2027 to June 9th 2028, the film adaptation of the PlayStation live service hit game recently saw its lead being switched from Jason Momoa to Alan Ritchson.
Finally, “Grandgear” has been moved up a month to January 14th 2028, while both “The Surgeon” and “Narcs” have been slated for next year on April 2nd and August 20th respectively.
