The Mummy
Brendan Fraser has confirmed that the new “The Mummy” film begins shooting tomorrow. The actor was recently photographed on a red carpet having lost considerable weight following months of training.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett (“Ready or Not”) helm the new film in which Fraser reprises his role of American adventurer Rick O’Connell while both Rachel Weisz and John Hannah are back English Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan and her brother Jonathan. Moonlight
Barry Jenkins’ Oscar Best Picture winner “Moonlight” is set to get a theatrical re-release via A24 on October 2nd in time to celebrate the film’s 10th anniversary. The re-release will get a new 4K remaster abd tickets go on sale on September 9th, with a limited edition anniversary art print also available.
Jenkins announced the news at a special Telluride Film Festival screening of the film, which follows a young African-American man who grapples with his identity and sexuality while experiencing the everyday struggles of childhood, adolescence, and burgeoning adulthood. [Source: Deadline]
Death Stranding
The live-action film adaptation of Hideo Kojima’s “Death Stranding” games is getting closer to production with the film’s director Michael Sarnoski saying the film has entered pre-production. Location scouting is set to begin in about a month.
The project was first announced in 2022, with A24 confirming its involvement shortly after and Sarnoski boarding in April 2025. Filming is expected to begin early 2027 in Iceland and Northern Ireland. [Source: BAFTA]
Justice League
During a recent interview, filmmaker Zack Snyder pointed fans toward existing storyboards that outline his complete Justice League trilogy vision: “We whiteboarded the entire three movie… three other movies that have yet to be seen. If you do a little bit of research, you can see the entire what the vision was.” Said storyboards have circulated online since 2021 and map out the Knightmare timeline and Darkseid’s conquest of Earth.
