Hulu’s acclaimed freshman crime thriller “Furious” has been renewed for a second season, the renewal coming through four days before the first season finale arrives on Monday.
Not to be confused with last year’s acclaimed Asian action film “The Furious,” this “Furious” is loosely inspired by the 1987 neo-noir psychological thriller “Black Widow” which starred Debra Winger and Theresa Russell.
In this “Furious,” Emmy Rossum stars as FBI Agent Alice Black who is on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating female serial killer.
Both walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur.
Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Scoot McNairy, Jake Lacy, Hope Davis, Rob Yang, Steve Way, Rob Delaney and Peter McRobbie co-star.
“New Girl” creator Elizabeth Meriwether serves as showrunner on the series which scored an 81 on Metacritic and a 98% (8.5/10) on Rotten Tomatoes.
