Whitney Peak Joins “Miami Vice ’85”

Netflix

Whitney Peak (“Thrash,” “Hocus Pocus 2”) has joined the cast of Joseph Kosinski’s “Miami Vice ’85” at Universal Pictures.

She marks the fourth addition to the cast following leads Michael B. Jordan as Ricardo Tubbs and Austin Butler as James ‘Sonny’ Crockett. Recently, Alden Ehrenreich was also added to the cast.

The story will explore the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami as it follows the two detectives who worked undercover. The project is said to be inspired by the pilot episode and first season of the landmark television series, which Michael Mann produced and was hugely influential on the TV and cultural landscape.

Peak is expected to play the love interest of Jordan’s Tubbs character but that has not been confirmed as yet. She reportedly beat out a number of actors who tested for the part with final chemistry tests conducted last month.

“F1” and “Top Gun: Maverick” helmer Kosinski will direct from a script by Dan Gilroy with filming to begin later this year ahead of a May 19th 2028 release.

Peak will next be seen playing Lenore Dove in “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” and the Amazon film “4 Kids Walk Into A Bank”.
