Coming to the two-week mark and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” keeps on breaking box-office records by the day.
Most recently, the title became the fastest to pass the $700 million mark at the domestic box office, hitting $704.5 million by the end of Wednesday. It has overtaken “Black Panther” and is about to overtake “Top Gun: Maverick” on the domestic all-time list.
Overseas, the film is at $1.108 billion, pushing past “Spider-Man: No Way Home” at $1.106 billion to be Sony’s biggest film ever overseas and No. 10 on the list of highest-grossing features internationally.
As of the end of Wedneday, it now stands less than $100 million shy of overtaking the entire $1.9 billion worldwide gross of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and will potentially sail past the $2 billion mark during the weekend.
‘Brand New Day’ is expected to pull in a further $57-72 million in its third weekend Stateside. The only competition opening this weekend is “The End of Oak Street” which is expected to earn a little over $2 million in previews tonight with the film looking for an $18-23 million domestic and $20-25 million overseas opening weekend.
Combined with “The Odyssey,” the Summer box-office is doing its most robust business since 2023’s Barbenheimer phenomenon.
