HBO Max has premiered the teaser trailer for “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” the upcoming “The Big Bang Theory” spin-off series focused on fan favourite character Stuart Bloom. The series premieres July 23rd.
In the series, comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon.
Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke.
Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from ‘The Big Bang Theory.’ As the title implies, things don’t go well.
Released during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation in New York this morning, the clip sees Stuart traversing various realities – ones inspired by comic books and geek pop culture – all while trying to survive.
The cast includes Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie. The show is created, written, and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady.
