The “Scrubs” team look to be all in for a revival should they be able to work out their scheduling.
Appearing Sunday on a Variety hosted reunion panel as part of the ATX TV Festival, cast members and creator Bill Lawrence (who has since gone on to create “Ted Lasso”) gathered and talked about the medical comedy-drama which ran from 2001-2010.
The group was asked who would be up for a revival to which they all agreed, but they’re all busy with Lawrence in particular in high demand. Actor Donald Faison said:
“I think we all want it. We all would love to work together again. It’s just that it’s really hard. It can’t be a full season of a show – it would have to be a movie or something like that, where you could only give a couple of months to it. Everyone is doing things. This dude [pointing to Lawrence] is never going to be free again.”
Co-star Zach Braff added that they wouldn’t do it unless Lawrence was involved, and Lawrence then said he’s very much down to do it when he can:
“We’re gonna do it because we’re lucky enough that people care. Top to bottom, we enjoy spending time with each other. If you ever have an excuse to work with people that you’d want to spend time with anyways, run to it…It’s worth it to me to see Neil [Flynn] back in that jumpsuit again.”
All nine seasons are available now on Amazon Prime and Hulu.
