Along with the “Star Trek” comments, filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s recent interview on HappySadConfused touched upon two other projects he has been linked to in the past.
One is a potential third “Kill Bill,” whilst the other is his rumored “Pulp Fiction” spin-off prequel “The Vega Brothers”. Bringing up “Kill Bill 3,” he revealed that he and star Uma Thurman have discussed the idea but it doesn’t seem to have gone much further than that.
However, he acknowledges that if he were to do a sequel to his works, those films would likely be it rather than the Vega brothers one:
“You know, Uma and I have talked about it recently to tell you the truth. I’m not sure if I’m going to do it, but I have thought about it a little further. If any of my movies would be taken – and me and Uma were literally talking about this last week. If any of my movies would spring from my other movies it would be the third ‘Kill Bill.’
I like the Vega brothers. But I’ve wondered what’s happened to The Bride. You know, 10 years later, 15 years later. What happens to her daughter? With ‘Bill’ [3, the movie], none of these [things], I’ve worked out scenarios for. But the whole Bill origin story has entranced me – the idea of these three godfathers – Esteban Vihaio, Hattori Hanzo, Pai Mei – and how he had to go through all three of those to become the diabolical Bill.”
You can see Tarantino’s latest, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” in cinemas this Friday.
