Survey: “Die Hard” Isn’t A Christmas Movie?

Willis Die Hard Is Not A Christmas Movie

Bruce Willis doesn’t think it is, and now a new survey has come to a similar conclusion that’s borderline blasphemous – that “Die Hard” is NOT a Christmas movie.

The debate over the John McTiernan-directed 1988 action film’s status as an Xmas movie has raged for many years and depends a lot upon what people define as a Christmas movie as there’s really no definitive set of definitions.

Trying to settle the debate finally, Morning Consult and THR got together to run a survey asking participants their responses to the “Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?” question.

According to their results, 25% say it is a Christmas movie and 62% say it isn’t. In terms of demographics, the split was even between Democrats and Republicans (26%) but differed due to gender with 32% of men saying it was as opposed to 20% of women.

The poll was conducted three weeks ago among a national sample of 2,200 U.S. adults. The interviews were conducted online and the data were weighted to approximate a target sample based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region.
