Adam Sandler is set to star in and produce Netflix’s new creepy comedy “Hubie Halloween” which will be made by his Happy Madison label.
Steven Brill (“Little Nicky,” “Mr. Deeds”) is set to direct the film from a script that Sandler co-wrote with Tim Herlihy (“The Wedding Singer”) and is slated to start shooting in July in Boston.
The story sees Sandler as a deli worker named Hubie, the local doofus, who is thrust into the middle of a murder case on Halloween night in the spooky town of Salem, Massachusetts. He is given the chance to redeem himself by saving Halloween.
Sandler will next be seen with Jennifer Aniston and Luke Evans in the French Riviera-set action-comedy “Murder Mystery” which hits the streamer on June 12th. He also recently filmed the crime drama “Uncut Gems” for the Safdie brothers (“Good Time”) which A24 will release.
