“Hitman: Classic Trilogy Remastered” Announced

IO Interactive

Announced as part of the IO Interactive Showcase, Saber Interactive has announced “Hitman: Classic Trilogy Remastered” for PC, PS5, and Xbox in 2027.

Saber was behind the “Tomb Raider I-III,” “Tomb Raider IV-VI,” and “Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2” remasters and are bringing that style to this.

The compilation will include “painstakingly rebuilt from the ground up” remasters of the original “Hitman: Codename 47,” “Hitman 2: Silent Assassin,” and “Hitman: Contracts” which were released in 2000, 2002 and 2004 respectively.

There are upgraded character models, enhanced environments, and high-resolution textures, combined with those enhanced visuals able to be toggled on and off. There’s also a new Photo Mode.

An announcement trailer was released which doesn’t showcase any gameplay, but several before/after screenshots have also been released showing the visual upgrades applied.

The move brings all the non-mobile “Hitman” games to modern consoles with the previously released Hitman HD Enhanced Collection in 2019 incorporating “Hitman: Blood Money” and “Hitman: Absolution” while “Hitman: World of Assassination” encapsulates the entire reboot trilogy.

The news comes as IO Interactive has also announced that their recently released “007: First Light” game has sold 2.7 million copies in its first week.
