Affleck’s “Batman” To Shoot In The Spring

A few weeks ago came word from Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes that an eighteen-month timetable was in place for the Ben Affleck-directed upcoming solo “Batman” film. Bewkes specifically said: “I think it’s a year and a half out”

That left many wondering whether he was referring to a potential release date, or potential production start date. Well it’s looking more like the former now according to actor Joe Manganiello (“True Blood,” “Magic Mike”) who plays the film’s villain Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke.

Speaking with ET Online, Maganiello says filming will begin next spring which suggests the film would be on track for a mid-late 2018 release. Right now Warners has staked out an October 5th 2018 release date for an untitled film – could “The Batman” take that slot?

Other actors expected to appear in the film are Jeremy Irons as Alfred and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon along with Affleck who stars, directs and is co-writing the script with Geoff Johns.
