J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company is assembling a limited-series package based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel “Billy Summers”.
The story follows Billy Summers, a hitman near retirement who takes one last highly lucrative job to feather his nest. That job? He embeds himself as an aspiring writer in a quiet town ahead of a planned assassination for a mob hitman before he goes to trial and rats out his employers. Things soon go awry.
Set to run anywhere between six to ten episodes, Ed Zwick & Marshall Herskovitz will adapt with Zwick directing. The project marks Bad Robot’s fourth King adaptation following “11.22.63,” “Castle Rock” and “Lisey’s Story”.
