More details have emerged about Marvel Studios’ “Wandavision” spin-off series “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” in recent feature pieces talking with some of the new show’s stars.

First up, actress and comedian Sasheer Zamata (“Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur,” “Woke,” “Home Economics”) is revealed to be playing sorcerer Jennifer Kale in the series.

The character has a large back history in the Marvel comics where her character has been linked to various other Marvel universe creations like Man-Thing and Howard the Duck.

Speaking with Mashable prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, saying:

“It felt magical that I got to be in a show about witches. I definitely did do as much [comic book] research as I could, but the way we formed this character is very different from what I think people expect.”

The series production also took the witch elements to the next level, Zamata saying:

“There were crystals and candles everywhere. We saged and cleansed the stage all the time. It was the perfect environment for me.”

Zamata joins a cast which includes Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, Miles Gutierrez-Riley as Billy’s boyfriend Hulkling, and Aubrey Plaza as a new character named Rio Vidal who is rumored to be the villain. It has already been speculated Rio is a gender-switched version of Dian/Emerald Warlock.

The series will reportedly run for nine episodes – an extension beyond the usual six-episode being seen more often these days. It wrapped filming in late May and is expected to air sometime next year.
