Zack Snyder’s DCEU Tidbits From Livestream

Filmmaker Zack Snyder participated in a Vero livestream of “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” earlier this morning, and during the broadcast revealed a couple of behind-the-scenes tidbits about the film and its connection to “Justice League”.

‘Dawn’ famously ends with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman teaming up against the Kryptonian killing machine Doomsday with Superman ultimately dying. Snyder reveals that Superman’s final scream before his death would be heard around the universe, including worlds beyond our galaxy, and in the process it would ultimately wake up the dormant Mother Boxes – the macguffin of Snyder’s “Justice League” film.

Then there’s a scene where a futuristic version of Barry Allen visits Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Snyder says that he believes Barry Allen was the one to put Bruce Wayne to sleep and send him into the Knightmare sequence. He apparently did this with the use of the Cosmic Treadmill, Allen doing it so that Bruce could get a clear look at what the future would become if Lois Lane was killed but would view it only as a premonition as opposed to a true alternate timeline.

Cyborg was apparently the one who helped to send Barry to speak to Bruce. However, Snyder asserts that Barry would have wanted Cyborg to send him to a second location in time, as his encounter with Bruce in BvS happened too soon.

Snyder also revealed that his original five-film arc would have featured a conversation in which Bruce is actually the one chosen to go back in time – in fact there were two actual possibilities in which he could have been sent back in the timeline.

With this having been livestreamed, the obvious question has to be asked as to whether Snyder will do one for the “Justice League” theatrical cut and what could come of that.
