Filmmaker Zack Snyder has offered an update on how his ambitious sci-fi feature “Rebel Moon” Is progressing with a social media post including the film’s first concept art.
In the post, the “Army of the Dead” director revealed that principal photography is set to begin in a few months with pre-production currently in full swing.
The story follows a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that is threatened by the armies of the tyrant Belisarius. The colony dispatches a young woman (Sofia Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.
Snyder co-wrote the script alongside Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten, with story by Snyder and Johnstad. He has previously indicated the hope is “this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out.”
No official release date has been announced for “Rebel Moon”.
