Youssef Joins Lanthimos’ “Poor Things”

Golden Globe-winning “Ramy” star Ramy Youssef is in negotiations to join “The Favorite” direct Yorgos Lanthimos, writer Tony McNamara and actress Emma Stone who all re-teaming on their next collaboration “Poor Things” at Searchlight and Film4.

Based on Alasdair Grey’s novel, this Victorian tale of love and scientific daring follows Belle Baxter, a young woman brought back to life by an eccentric but brilliant scientist.

Youssef’s role is under wraps, but he will potentially be joined by Willem Dafoe who was announced as being in talks last month. Ali Herting, Dave McCary, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe produce.
