Taylor Sheridan and John Linson’s “Yellowstone” series on the Paramount Network has set another ratings record for itself.
This past week’s third season finale of the Kevin Costner-led series drew 5.2 million total viewers in Live+Same Day – one million more viewers than any other episode in the series history.
That made it the No. 1 most-watched cable telecast of the year according to Nielsen. With CMT simulcast and encores, it drew 7.5 million viewers on premiere night – an increase of 71-84% (depending on the demographic) from the second season finale.
The success capped a season that ranks as the most watched across all cable year-to-date in Live+Same Day. The series follows a family dynasty that controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States.
