“Yellowstone” Premiere Is 2022’s Most Watched

Paramount Network

The simulcast fifth season premiere of “Yellowstone” averaged 15.7 million in Live+3 results from Nielsen, up 6% from the fourth season premiere (14.7 million).

That performance makes it the most-watched show across all of TV in 2022, and the most-watched cable premiere since a 2017 episode of “The Walking Dead” (around the show’s eighth season).

Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of Showtime/Paramount Media Networks, says not only does this solidify the show’s status as the most watched series on TV, the new season premiere saw an increase in younger viewers by nearly 60% – suggesting it has more room to grow.

The series over-indexed within cities such as St. Louis, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh and under-indexed in coastal urban cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York.
