Showtime has renewed its acclaimed and talked about cult hit horror drama “Yellowjackets” for a second season.
Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci and Tawny Cypress lead the cast of the series which jumps back and forth between two time periods – one in which a teenage girls’ soccer team has to learn to survive in the wilderness in the aftermath of a plane crash, the other in which the now adult women deal with the trauma of that experience.
Reviews have been strong with the series making several Best of 2021 lists, four million viewers across Showtime’s platforms have reportedly watched the premiere since its debut on November 14th with the viewership “snowballing” according to the network.
Showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson and Jonathan Lisco are all expected back for the next season of the series which had a pilot directed by Karyn Kusama.
