Comedian, actor and screenwriter Yassir Lester (“Making History”) has been set as head writer for Marvel Studios’ “Armor Wars” series which sees Don Cheadle reprising his Col. Jim ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes/War Machine role.
Lester and Cheadle previously worked together on Showtime’s comedy “Black Monday” which starred Cheadle and had Lester as one of the main writers along with being a co-star.
‘Wars’ will see Cheadle’s Rhodey facing the late Tony Stark’s worst fears, that of his high-tech armor falling into the wrong hands. No director is on board at this stage. The project is separate from the “Ironheart” series also in the works.
