“Star Wars: Clone Wars” and “Star Trek: Enterprise” writer Brent Friedman is set to adapt the Xbox video game “Grounded” into a TV series.

Dubbed a mashup of “A Bug’s Life” and “Honey I Shrunk The Kids,” the series follows four friends whose pre-high school plans are upended when they stumble upon shrinking technology that makes them two inches tall.

Now they must learn to survive in a towering backyard that’s a jungle full of enormous predators and hiding a vast corporate conspiracy threatening their entire town.

The show reportedly exists in the same universe as the game which hit early access in July 2020, and will launch wider in September with over 10 million players already onboard.

Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox are adapting in association with Waterproof Studios/SC Productions, Kinetic Media and Bardel Entertainment. Friedman will craft the story with Brien Goodrich.
