Xbox Planning Game Pass Family Plan?

Xbox Planning Game Pass Family Plan

A new report at Windows Central indicates that Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass is set to receive a long-awaited Family Plan to be announced later this year.

Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold has offered family plans for years, but their much talked about Xbox Game Pass until now has always been a single-account subscription.

Now comes word of a ‘Family Plan’ which is expected to be part of a higher paying new tier and will allow users to share the service across multiple consoles and households.

Specifically, it would allow five other players to access the full library – so long as they reside in the same country as the primary account holder.

The new plan is expected to make use of Microsoft’s existing Family Account system used for services like Office 365. No word at present on what the pricing for using said plan will be and whether there will be separate plans for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement of the first details of rival Sony’s reworked multi-tier Playstation Plus subscription service which has sparked the inevitable fanboy wars in online circles.
