Microsoft’s Xbox division announced on Friday it will again raise the price of its gaming consoles in the United States, this time “due to changes in the macroeconomic environment”.
Up until April, the console was still at essentially launch price. A Series X regular costs around $500 & digital around $450. A Series S cost around $350 for the 1Tb version and $300 for the 512Gb version.
In May, both Series X consoles went up $100 each, and both Series S consoles went up $80 each. Starting from October 3rd, both Series X consoles go up a further $50 each and both Series S consoles went up $20 each.
The new prices are that the Series X regular will cost around $650 & digital around $600. A Series S costs around $450 for the 1Tb version and $400 for the 512Gb version.
Prices for controllers and headsets will not change, and there will be no pricing changes outside of the U.S. at this time.
In the near future, Microsoft says it will “continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and providing value for Xbox players.”
