Wrestling legend and occasional actor Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71. Hogan reportedly passed away from a cardiac arrest.
Medics were dispatched to Hogan’s home in Florida early Thursday morning. He was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance.
It follows on from reports a few weeks ago that he was in a coma and/or on his deathbed. At the time, however, it was indicated he was dealing with symptoms from a neck procedure that had been done in May.
Wrestling catered to a fairly narrow audience, but Hogan changed that image, helping turn the sport into family entertainment and drawing huge interest. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 in 2020, the former one removed over a scandal.
He also dabbled in film and television with roles in “Rocky III,” “Suburban Commando,” “No Holds Barred” and “Mr. Nannu” along with the VH1 reality series “Hogan Knows Best”.
In May, Hulk was promoting the launch of an amateur wrestling league called Real American Freestyle which has its first event next month.
