Tonight, for a one night only event, actresses Regina King, Alfre Woodard, Tracee Ellis Ross and Sanaa Lathan will play Rose, Sophia, Dorothy and Blanche respectively in a Zoom live table read of iconic sitcom “The Golden Girls”.
Directed by “The Old Guard” helmer Gina Prince-Bythewood and hosted by Lena Waithe, the quartet will act out the classic “Flu Attack” episode from the first season of the series for the Zoom Where It Happens weekly live table read program which aims to raise awareness around voting rights.
Tessa Thompson, Cynthia Erivo and Ava DuVernay are also involved as producers on the event which will connect viewers to online civil rights organization Color of Change. The reading kicks off shortly at 6pm US-PDT (11am AU-EST). Details are up at MobilizeUs.
