Warner Animation Group and “Madagascar” scribe Mark Burton are teaming to develop “Toto,” a new animated feature take on L. Frank Baum’s “Oz” books.
“War Horse” scribe Michael Morpurgo’s children’s book “Toto: The Dog-Gone Amazing Story of The Wizard of Oz” will be used as the basis for the project which reimagines Baum’s classic first novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” from the perspective of Dorothy Gale’s dog.
Jared Stern (“The Lego Batman Movie”) and Winsor Yuan will serve as executive producers on the film.
