CD Projekt Red has announced that the updated version of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will be released for next-gen consoles and PC on December 14th. A gameplay reveal will take place next week, showcasing the differences.
The update will feature dozens of visual, performance and technical enhancements over the original, including ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, and a variety of mods integrated into the experience.
The new-gen release was originally being developed externally by Saber Interactive until earlier this year when CD Projekt brought development in-house to complete the project.
The title will be released as a free update for players who already own the game on PC, Xbox One and PS4, and as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. It will also include DLC items inspired by the Netflix series.
CD Projekt Red recently announced plans for a new trilogy of “Witcher” games, “Witcher” spin-offs, a ‘full-fledged remake’ of “The Witcher” in Unreal Engine 5, a “Cyberpunk 2077” sequel, and an original IP.
