The family of iconic action star Bruce Willis has announced that the 67-year-old actor is ‘stepping away’ from acting due to health issues.
A message with today’s announcement was posted to Instagram by his wife Emma Heming, ex-wife Demi Moore and daughter Rumer and signed by them and all his children.
According to the announcement, Willis has been experiencing some health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia which is impacting his cognitive abilities. Aphasia affects a person’s ability to express and understand written and spoken language.
The family says in the statement: “This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”
Willis has at least a half-dozen projects either completed or in post-production but not yet released.
