A new report in British tabloid The Daily Mirror has seemingly outlined plans for Jodie Whittaker’s departure from “Doctor Who”.
The actress, starring as the thirteenth major incarnation of The Doctor is reportedly sticking around for a little longer than some reports had previously anticipated.
Whittaker is currently shooting the eight-episode thirteenth season of the series which is aiming to premiere later this year. The tabloid report indicates she then will appear in two specials airing next year at the end of which the character will then regenerate into the 14th Doctor.
The source indicates that the network: “clearly have plans for episodes to be playing out much later into 2022 – so there’s still more to come for Jodie’s Doctor.” The show hits its 60th anniversary in 2023.
