Here we continue a new monthly section that will offer a quick go-to list of what’s coming to cinemas, VOD & SVOD services, and gaming platforms over the coming weeks.
This isn’t a complete list, rather it’s one showcasing the major and some minor titles of note. The titles are separated by date and ordered with films & film rentals first, then TV, then games.
Film-wise there’s Marvel’s “Thor: Love and Thunder,” Jordan Peele’s third directorial effort with “Nope,” Netflix’s $200 million assassin thriller “The Gray Man” with Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling, the return of the “Minions,” the animated “DC League of Super-Pets,” and Ron Howard’s Thai cave rescue drama “Thirteen Lives”.
TV-wise the final jumbo-sized episodes of the fourth season of “Stranger Things”; the final run of AMC’s “Better Call Saul”; Taron Egerton leads the prison thriller “Black Bird”; Chris Pratt returns to TV in “The Terminal List”; “Resident Evil” and “Paper Girls” get live-action TV series; the return of acclaimed comedies “What We Do In The Shadows,” “Harley Quinn,” “Solar Opposites” and “Tuca and Bertie”; and the second “South Park” streaming special for this year.
On the games front, the long-anticipated ‘you play a cat’ game “Stray,” in which you control a feline wandering a cyberpunk city, is coming to PlayStation and PC platforms and will be free for Playstation+ Extra/Premium members. There’s also “As Dusk Falls” for PC and free for Xbox Game Pass and looks like a riff on Supermassive’s “Until Dawn”/”The Quarry” style games. Finally, the third entry in the “Xenoblade Chronicles” franchise arrives.
