FX has released the full trailer for the fifth season of its mockumentary comedy series “What We Do in the Shadows” with a glimpse of Guillermo’s not-exactly-smooth transition into becoming a vampire.
The fifth season picks up after Nandor feels his familiar (and sometimes friend) Guillermo slipping away as he seems to be spending much more time with Laszlo.
Laszlo’s skills as a gentleman scientist are put to the test as he tries to solve the mystery of the strange and very secret changes Guillermo is going through.
Guillermo himself is struggling with his vampire transformation after previously asking his friend Derek to finally turn him into one.
Nadja, suffering the effects of a previously-undiagnosed supernatural hex, reconnects with her family – or at least, a family – from the Old Country.
Colin pursues the path of so many energy vampires before him by running for political office, and The Guide tries to figure out where she fits in as the newcomer to this tightly-knit group.
Throw in a chaotic trip to the mall and you have all the makings of a full new season. Returning cast includes Kayvan Novak as Nandor, Matt Berry as Laszlo, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Mark Proksch as Colin, Harvey Guillén as Guillermo and Kristen Schaal as The Guide.
The series is based on the feature film of the same name from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, who both serves as executive producers alongside Paul Simms, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush.
The fifth season of “What We Do in the Shadows” is scheduled to premiere on July 13th on FX and Hulu.
